The research line of the group focuses on the development and application of advanced Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning methods for brain and medical imaging. Activities include segmentation, classification, and prediction tasks across multiple imaging modalities (MRI, CT, fMRI, EEG, ultrasound), with attention to innovative approaches such as federated learning, unlearning, and fairness. A specific focus is placed on brain imaging, leveraging fMRI, EEG, and MRI to investigate brain functions, support research on neurological and neurodegenerative diseases, and develop novel brain–computer interfaces. The overall goal is to design intelligent systems that integrate computer vision, machine learning, and clinical knowledge, providing tools for diagnosis, prognosis, and personalized treatment, with tangible benefits for digital health and precision medicine.
